About Peel Paintings

 

Peel Paintings started when impasto painter, Ruth Collis, tried to remove paint from another painting that wasn't working, and computer paper was the only tool nearby to get rid of this glob of paint on to a discard canvas.

 

To her sheer amazement, as she pressed the paint on there, then peeled it away, all these fascinating intricate texture lines appeared, unintended. Ruth has further found many other fascinating techniques that seem to happen off the canvas.
