I love exploring all the possibilities a medium can do, and thick acrylics has continued to amaze me more and more over the years with so many exciting discoveries to be found!
With me, you can always count on something out of the ordinary with materials used and subject matter, or an incredible technique, but most of all, consistency with TEXTURE that can only be found in a Ruth Collis original acrylic sculpture painting.
I am happiest making something fun up, than doing traditional realistic subject matter. There are a hundred thousand artists who can replicate a cat in exact detail, but where have you seen the wonders of paint so thick it turns into sculpture? So flexible you can roll it into shapes? So versatile you can cut it, braid it, squish, squeeze, or swirl it, or use itself as a palette built up to use over again as texture in the art? That's not even getting into paint that GLOWS!
