This floral painting is made of 3 canvases put together that make what you call a triptych setup. Richly textured impasto is paint applied thickly, but with a new "peel" technique here, where paint is pessed between 2 surfaces and pulled apart to reveal these intricate veiny texture lines. Also added are Ruth's impasto pieces leaves that were dried on a separate surface, remain flexible, and enabled fun twisting and bending around the canvas edges for a super 3-dimensional look amidst this abstract background. the leaves start from the middle painting and flow to a few side edges of the additional side pieces. See pictures below of a few different ways you can arrange them.
